I.  The doorway and the wheel  Stepping into the concentric calm      of a thousand smooth-flowed centerings      leaves her submerged in Dao        the space between the wheels        the shapes a potter’s hands can make        the perfect spin that brings it all to her  So quiet, each search for self      now fills to overflowing that great            bow

I can't draw birds.I can't draw birds.  I don't know how to put this down in words -  the way birds sleep, or what you want from me,  to see, to keep.  Perhaps the way they stand,  the way their feathers settle - you're beyond  the skill of my poor hand.  It's how they fly,  
ascending like a smile you've escaped  the caging pupil of my little eye.   
I can't draw wings.  I don't know how to take off, how to land -  I know how your lips feel against my face,  and I know how to settle into space,  I know the touch of sheets as soft as sand,  but not the breaking down, the perfect gra I can't draw birds.

Peace ought to restPeace ought to rest  like God on Sundays, but she doesn't  in fact, usually she's running, chafing,  a nervous celebrator of the Sabbath  writing her papers anyway, yelling at the dog,  flipping the light switches herself -  Peace is a cheater, half-baked,  with a low tolerance for frustration  too modern and fast-paced  for the slow and outdated; she's highly scheduled,  horribly inefficient.  Peace  ought to rest like God on the seventh day  but she does not.  She comes  in small doses, ten seconds in the stairwell, the moment  of staring at a screen b Peace ought to rest

and now that I have AP Art, I get class time to do it! (well ... sorta. just don't tell anyone)
