Latin addresses the ... by ~dimerization:icondimerization:

Latin addresses the jury.  English has pled Not Guilty.

Ecce Homo!  Rather, behold the tongue
quod erat demonstrandum is a thief
of words so old.  Although he seems so young,
in veritas he’s not grown words like “leaf”
(exempli grata, really is Germanic).
Ceteris paribus, this is enough
to ipso facto cause linguistic panic!
His hacking is so crude, so plain, so rough
that post and propter hoc I do propose
(my wisdom ab antiguo as my base)
that on this wild language we impose
a certain quid pro quo that he must face.
It will go thus:  English will now be healed
in modus operandi.  Should he lie,
we’ll pro forma disown him.  Signed and sealed.
Sincerely yours, the parens patriae.

Latin phrases! Look them up to your heart's content. The link doesn't work, just add that close-paren to the end of the url and it will take you there...

EDIT: added 3 lines. I realized I had skipped a rhyme.

...I think that made too much sense. Should I be afraid?

Delightfully academic. Well done.

As a recent student of Latin, this made me giggle. Nice.

And so it's here that our story ends,
Exactly where it did start,
In that labyrinth of mystery,
We call the human heart,

For they say that without it,
No one can truely live,
But it also has been rumored,
That without it, we cannot forgive.
